Bio-Intensive Orchard

Diversity rules in ecology and integrated food plots have proven to have higher success in pest/disease management than those of limited diversity. With our partnership with MSU DPFLI we will have the chance to install an educational orchard for the community.

We aim to plant a combination of fruit trees, shrubs, bushes, pollinator patches and structures to capture storm water runoff as well as study various research questions. Study ideas may include:

  • Water Intake/Storage

  • Under story Canopy/Guilds

  • Mulching options

  • Integrated pest management

  • Best combinations for bio-intensive planting

Stay tuned for updates!
